Research - Molecular Genetics of Breast Cancer and targeted therapies in Nigeria

In Nigeria, Inshira was responsible for the design and execution of the data and analytics platform for the analysis of clinical data of Breast Cancer tumor samples. These samples were sent to Foundation Medicine Inc (FMI), a specialized Gene sequencing company. Inshira’s focus was on clinical data capture and correlation with the findings of the Genetic analysis. There were two sites in the study namely National hospital Abuja and Lutheran Teaching Hospital.

Impact of Inshira:

Data of around 300 samples were captured using Inshira’s intuitive and user experience design. Data structure entailed essential demographics, stage, immunohistorychemistry (IHC), type of Breast cancer, Geocode of the patient’s town/city etc.

Impact of the research:

Genetic science is the health technology of the future wherein Molecular landscape of Breast Cancer in a specific demographic leading to actionable targets for molecular guides treatment strategies. The analysis driven treatment therapies would be designed and offered as personalized healthcare to the patients.

Inshira has now established a framework for digital transformation in medical research.
