Hepatitis Research Project in Ghana
The project was designed to screen the population of a particular organization for Hepatitis B and C virus. A digital platform was co-created to capture the demographics and critical risk factors associated with the HBV and HCV disease.
The project objective was to be able to graphically demonstrate the results from the data along with geocoded prevalence in the country of Ghana using Google's Fusion Tables (now obsolete).
This project gave birth to the idea of designing a framework for NCD's too. It was able to show some breathtaking analytics based on demographics, show on maps / heat maps where the positive cases were found and slice and dice through the demographic attributes for risk factors associated with the source of the infection and disease spread.
Key Risk factors were captured from the subjects by a highly trained Ghanaian medical team., this helped in campaigning and raising awareness.
impact:
Those found positive with the HBV were provided treatment followed by immunization., The project also identified disease prevalence in the demographic of Ghana.
